hi im bac and you'll be pleased to know my tanks all sorted hers the problem i added some new fish today some more tetra, 2 bronze cory's and another male dwarf gourami, its now been about an hour since i added then and my original male dwarf gourami is acting aggressively, not only towards the new gourami but to the cory's as well? what should i do at the moemnet i have to just keep trapping him in the net every now and again just to give the other three fish a few mins rest

Male Gouramis will fight so you can't keep two in the same tank unless it's a very big well planted tank so you need to take one back. However if this is the 42 litre tall tank you originally had, it's too small for Dwarf Gouramis anyway and for Bronze Cories (who shoul be in a gropof at least six). I think we advised at the time that the most you could do would be a shoal of one of the microspecies such as Ember Tetra. Anything bigger than those is too big for the tank.

no sorry its a new tank 2 and a half foot long got it second hand with its filter and some mature water so it was all set when i put them in, notwithstanding my fight against whitespot but thats for another time lol, and i took him back, ill just have to get a group next time when i have a bigger tank, and alls good in there now well the gourami is still chasing the cory's when they get to close but nothing serious

He'll probably settle down in a day or two now the other male's out of the picture. Probably just feeling "on the alert" at the moment in case he reappears
