Next Monday my rescue goldies are moving on to a lovely ornamental pool in sunny Walsall which already houses about 5 15" Koi and six or seven 7-10" goldies.
Anyway I'm still worried about Lumpy as she still has the big growth. My understanding is that most pond fish are carrying the virus and that just because she goes in the pond it doesn't mean that the exisiting fish will break out in lumps. What do you reckon?? JON |

Most are carriers, but in general it only manifests when there are factors compromising immunity such as too small a tank, poor water quality, overstocking, wrong water parameters, poor diet.
If the pond is well maintained then there's no reason for the other fish to break out in lumps, and over time, Lumpy's lumps may well recede or even disappear. HTH ![]() |
