Hmm... I think Deeda is not a girl... I noticed some tiny whitish dots on the fish's gill covers and pectoral fins today...
When do goldfish actually reach sexual maturity? I did not expect it to happen so soon... |

Goldfish usually mature at about a year old.
Read this link Pixie as it explains everything on how to sex and breed if you want http://www.bristol-aquarists.org.uk/goldfish/info/sexing-fs.htm |

Cheers, I think I am actually going to breed if I am successful enough to select a female for him.
By the way, he has been renamed for Deedoo. I would like to 'home make' Deeda 3 one day. I hope I will have something to say when it comes to breeding as my previous fish (years ago) decided to do it whether I wanted or not... I thought that all eggs would be eaten but one day... suprise, suprise! |

Goldfish usually mature at about a year old. Deedo does not look 1 year old and the guy in the shop said he was about 6 months old when I got him... Maybe he is just getting ready and it is his way of telling me he would welcome a companion |
