Hi guys what do you think of this???
http://www.charterhouse-aquatics.co.u ... rbon-buckettub-p-804.html Would I need to pour a load into a stocking to put into one of the chambers on my orca or would a standard mesh filter net hold it??? Cheers! |

I have got eheim loose activated carbon, it needs to be in quite a fine mesh net.
I look like I've been down a coal mine every time I do anything with it, so don't wear your best clothes ... |

It may have a mesh net inside, as mine did. For your tank size I would only put about 4 tablesppons in and flatten it out like a pancake to spread around the net and enough to cover the chamber area so the water flow through evenly. Not like a ball if you know what I mean.HTH

No there are no mesh nets unfortunately, and the instructions were absolutely pants. Just trying to figure out how the water flows through the chambers at the mo! lol
Seen this on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/__Fish_ACTIVATE ... 3A12&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 Seems pretty reasonable, would last over a year. I reckon I would need to use a stocking and fill with a little carbon then flatten down as you say tony. Ordered some rowa-phos (100ml pack) last night along with salifert test kits for the works. Would I do the same with the rowa phos? I'm thinking, rowa phos, then carbon on top, then filter wool wedged in on top of the carbon in chamber 3, how does that sound? |
