'Kay, as there are a two threads that have both turned into the same thing, to reduce confusion thought I would start a fresh. If needs be we could refer back to the other threads!

So the plan we have settled on is what then? To carry on with the Protozin until I can get this Flagyl, then give her the Flagyl and then hopefully, her immune system will be repaired and the other ailments will hopefully clear up easily?

Is that right? Please copy, paste and amend as necessary!

Thanks so much you guys, I was actually crying last night as I thought my bumbling was going to kill her.

I can do this (PMA!!) but only with your help! Xx

Did she even attempt to explain why not? Did you explain that there isnt really an alternative cure and that she might well die without it?

Bloody vets.

She said she has never heard of it being given to fish, or how you would go about it (I think vets just dont care a jot about fish, what with it being a lesser creature and all ).

I started to protest with:
'Well, LongHairedGi.... Um, a 'fish expert' has advised me this is the only way to cure her'

She was having none of it.

I am certainly going to change vets surgeries I think.

I am not spending any more hundreds of my pounds on my Labs Hip Dysplasia at that vets!

I don't know Fishy. I was hoping to get it quite soon. Today ideally from the vet but she is clearly a Bee-atch.

Me and Coralline were talking to Dr Peter Burgess (batman of fishkeeping) at the weekend and he was saying the training that vets and vet nurses get on fish is pretty lame. You could try phoning a fish vet, I bet they would give you it. I'll find a list of them, hang on.

One of these guys should be able to help you out.

Also if anyone has the PFK directory there's a list in there, it's not on their site for some reason though

your vet does sound pretty lame, she obviousley has got a clue re fish! i'm sure if she did a bit of research she would find plenty of evidence of it being used on fish.
hope you have better luck with the fish vets, you mite need to take the fish to them, but depends how far away they are tho. good luck!
