Take the gH up to about 170-180 gradually over a few more days - dose every other day 'til you get there. After that, always add enough Equilibrium to the new water to raise it to the same level as the tank when you do a water change. If you need to top up for evaporation between water changes, don't add Equilibrium to that water.
Regarding kH - Equilibrium cannot raise kH as it does not contain any carbonates. Either something else is raising kH (something in the tank or a change in kH in the tap water you're adding when you change water) or the test is inaccurate. Check your pH in the tank. Has it also risen? |

no ph has been 7.4 for last 4 days. steady.
so do i need to raise kh too? by adding something or just gh. i used the test tube that come with test last time and had no waterline so i'm using an api one now to 5 ml so that might have caused slight difference. i will keep using 5ml tube and see if kh rises next time. |

I would retest now as we can't advise on raising kH until we know what it is at the moment.
