What level is ammonia at? I think the level of the ammonia might determine whether it'd be wise to feed more often.
The great thing about prime is that it also detoxifies ammonia by converting it to ammonium. The liquid test kit still picks it up as ammonia but if I remember correctly the 'ammonia alert' by Seachem will work properly to let you know if the ammonia has all been converted to ammonium. You c an get the ammonia alert on eBay. They also do a pH alert. |

If you look on the bottle Prime says that the standard dose removes 1mg/L ammonia (~1ppm). You have 0.5ppm and are changing 50% of the water daily with prime as a dechlorinator so they should be safe.
Just to clarify do you run the water from the mains and leave the water overnight to allow the pH to settle? |

Just a note that it's no longer worth looking for Seachem products on eBay as Seachem have prohibited the sale of their proucts via the site. Any you find will either be used which is risky, or from overseas which adds to cost and delivery time. |

Oh yeah so that affects the alerts too? I didn't notice as I was planning on importing from the US as it is cheaper if getting pH and ammonia, then I decided it'd be better to just keep ammonia to 0 if I could!
Abracadabra probably still sell them though? They have an ebaystore but it will mean a bit more expense :( |

How big is the tank? You would need lots of buckets to do 50% changes daily! You'll be getting tanked ;) |
