Obviously you'd need to fit a propper plug.

Look very similar to these. Fizz passed one along to me with the Clowns, but warned me it was dicky as it was allowing moisture inside. I let it dry out and coated the seals in silicone, and got it working again, but as soon as it wa fitted into the tank hood, beads of condensation appeared inide the tube and it packed up again.

Also, the one you linked to has to be used with a 2 pin to three pin adapter. You can't just change the plug as it's also a 12V supply.

Cheers Mrs FL, I thought those 2 pin to 3 pin things were illegal in the EU, but APS heaters have them!!!

I'm setting up a 45L nano type tank for a friend but it has no lighting. I was thinking six neon tetra (depending on water readings)

I know it's small but surely some of the micro / nano species would be doable?

Definitely not Neons, Jon, they're too active and need more swimming space. Some of the micro rasbora species would be OK, pH and gH permitting: Celestial Pearl Danio (Danio margaritatus), Emerald Rasbora (Danio erythromicron), Chile Rasbora (Bororas brigittae), etc., or maybe Ember Tetras (Hyphessobrycon amandae). I have a shoal of 10 Ember Tetras in a tank about that size along with my Otos.

Great stuff, Ripples have Ember Tetras at the moment

It's Erdington so water should be the same as mine.

Does the tank have a hood already or not? If it doesn't I'd get an Arcadia. 9W should be enough.

Thanks Dave, it does have a hood, but could be used without.

Do I just Google Arcadia 9v ?
