I have set up a small (20L) tank to raise daphnia. I am trying to breed enough to regularly feed my two tanks once a week (see sig for details). I have it set up as follows :

Temperature 20C.

I have an air pump running on a restricted valve (slow rate) which collects large(ish) bubbles under an oyster shell before the air rises to the surface.

I have a 15W daylight bulb over the top, and the water level is a couple of inches below that. The bulb runs for about 15 hours a day.

I have put some dead coral and crushed up eggshells (along with the coral) to add calcium to the water.

I am feeding a mix of yeast and infusoria 3-4 times a day (I wait until the water goes almost clear before feeding). The last feed at night, and the feed before I go to work are double doses.

I clean the bottom of the tank, and replace 1/4 of the water (with conditioner) twice a week.

I have also put in some very small snails (1-2mm) in the same tank, as they don't seem to be growing much in my main tanks.

Can anyone offer any advice, as to if this seems OK ?

Thanks

Yes, I had, thanks. I was basing my setup on that and several other articles I read online (water changes in particular differed according to where you went). I just wanted to check with anyone who had already done it, if they had any comments on how my setup is, and if they had any 'tips and tricks'
