Oh dear that platy does seem to have been in the wars. Missing scales and ripped tails are pretty common injuries in my paradise fish tank. Never seen them go for eyes but that could well be because everything in the tank can and will fight back.

Paradise fish are beautiful, friendly and generally lovely fish to keep but they are horribly aggressive to other fish, especially their own kind. Keep a very sharp eye out for flaring. It can just be flirtatious but very often its aggressive and quickly leads to chasing and violence.
