Is my tank ok?

I am thinking on whether to buy a Fluval Roma 240 in a few months time (maybe x-mas). I already have a Fluval Roma 90 that contains tropical fish.

Once I get my Fluval Roma 240, I was going to change this tank into my tropical and consider turning my 90l into a marine tank.

My question is will a 90l Fluval Roma be appropriate to have coral and a few clown fish in? Is there a certain glass thickness or size for marine - or if its a good tank could I just set one up?

Please reply, thanks!

from what ive read 90L with a good amount of live rock in would mean it would be two small for clown fish. This website seems reliable and consistant for marine fish and corals.. requirements...

If you want to convert the Roma 90, you will need to think about changing the standard T8s that came with it for T5s or maybe Halide/LCD. T8s are not really bright enough for most coral. There's some good articles on here about setting up your first Marine tank which are worth a read.

I'm also going to be writing my own progress report on how I get on with my nano marine at some point (that would be if life gives me a spare few hours to get the project started).

I know someone that converted the Roma 240 to Marine and they enjoyed the project - ended up expensive though as they went for in for drilling, much better lighting and a sump. Their conclusion was to buy a tank that was already set up as Marine as it would probably be cheaper

I'd be interested to see progress reports once you start though

as above upgrade lights, if your not going for a skimmer (will be difficult to attach) then keep on top of water changes
