Hi there,

...... I've also got the Honda 750cc Nighthawk which is a completely different ballgame (like a b...dy rocket!). I don't ride that one much now 'cos my poor old legs suffer when they're stuck on pegs and not on nice fat platforms!

Tony.

I was after one of those a few years back. Ended up with a Yamaha YX600 Radian (import) instead. No bikes now though

Just thought in humble opinion reckon get a seperate thermostat just in case heater goes on the blink but I especially like the idea of a back up heater or a secondary heater as will also ensure good heat distribution throughout the tank !!

Good point, I've been wondering whether to use two all-in-one Heater/thermostats or separate Heaters wired to a Thermostat.
But I think the advantage lies with the all-in-one's, because using two of these you have the security of two separate Thermostats rather than losing all heat if a separate thermostat controlling both Heaters was to fail!
(Least! I think that's what I think!?).

Tony.

Did you mean a separate thermostat? Most tank heaters now include a thermostat, but they are not hugely accurate so you are best to have a little digital thermometer in the tank too, and adjust the heaters according to that - sometimes you have to set them higher or lower than the temperature they are supposed to provide.
