Hi everyone
I'm due to go on holiday in a few months and wondered what the best thing to do with the 2 goldies was. I'm currently having to do water change twice a week to keep nitrate below 40, if I go away for a week it is likely to be 40ish when i get back. - will the fish be OK? Also, whats the best advice re feeding? I don't have a neighbour I would trust to feed them for me...is an auto feeder best? I know I'm a bit early but I'd rather get anything sorted well in advance... |

Extra water changes the week before you go and a big one when you get back should sort the nitrates issue - a temporary rise to about 40 for a day or two shouldn't cause a problem.
Feed well the week before, then chuck a load of elodea in and if you're only away for a week, they'll manage fine eating that  |

Good advice from Fishlady - (Noodle) as always
and agree they will be fine left unfed for a week, actually does them good to fast now and again and helps with the nitrate too for future reference, I have used auto-feeders on many occasions especially when we go away for two weeks and have had excellent results with them |
