Thanks guys
Here's a thought then, I am changing the water in the uncycled tank daily, which will be ammonia rich, If I add some of that to the larger tank and monitor the results over the coming days would that be ideal. I have ordered some plants which I was going to get set up before adding any fish, or do you think I should add some fish first as they will be safer in the more heavily diluted water? Its so dificult knowing what is the best move for the welfare of the fish Thanks for your help guys |

I'm pretty sure the fish will be better off in the bigger tank. As fish lady (noodle) said, the filter on the small tank is not cycled, so even if most of the bacteria in the filter in the big tank have died off, the fish will be better off with a much greater volume of water to dilute toxins. just keep up daily testing and water changes as appropriate. I would move he fish and buy a Seachem ammonia aleet and some Seachem prime to be safe.

Thank you so so much for everyone's help and advice, I have moved the fish into their new home and I swear they are having a disco
Even the catfish has been out dancing, we haven't really seen him before as he has been stuck to the bogwood since we got him. The one remaining Clown Loach is doing some pretty decent moves too, mainly up and down, up and down, then a little shimmy, its fantastic to see him happy As you can probably tell I have got a smile on my face as I write this, and I know there is still a long way to go to get things perfect but this is a little ray of sunshine and I'm gonna soak up the rays ![]() |

Thats great. Just keep testing the water over the next week or so and if any ammonia or nitrIte appears do a water change. Once you have had zero readings for several days you should be cycled and can revert to less frequent water changes to control nitrates.
Enjoy the tank, well done on doing a proper job. ![]() |
