Further to Suey suggesting a revisit to the FK article on the speed of goldfish growth and as it coincided with me moving to the cold side (only trops until then), I've been keeping a photo diary
![]() Mine are still babies really, just coming up to 6 months now from the tiny 1 and half inch 'brown' fancies I fell for. Pic 1 - Late Sept 2011 - youngsters at an inch or so ![]() |

Pic 2 - Late October 2011 - only 4 weeks later and now 2 inches. One is changing colour already from the juvenile dark colouration. Named Rhubarb and Custard.

![]() Given the right food and volume/filtration, I'm under no doubt that these fish will be whoppers as they grow on and mature. Something I'm ready to deal with if I need that 4 footer in due course ![]() Goldfish bowl??????? |

Thanks Miss P, I do love them, they both have quite different personalities I have to say.
They 'clack' on the thermometer when they want attention lol. Who else said that here, was it Viriconia? Useful I think to show development/growth and would agree with Suey that the chart here in articles needs a bit of an update IME. Not sure of sexes yet, but have tank divider at the ready if ever needed should one become a bit frisky ![]() |

Hi Suey
![]() Body only, excluding tail fin. The metallic is uber chunky width wise too. |

Oh wow! They are beautiful, you must be so proud!
Really shows the need for a big tank. Yes, it was my Ronnie who would clack the thermometer, then check to see if you were getting up, then clack again for a bit, then check again! No more clacks now though :( |
