Hi all, Ive been looking at plants for my goldie tank on plantsalive website and they say that the onion plant tends not to get eaten by fish has anyone had any experience of these in a goldfish tank and do the fish eat them? My fish are like small lawnmowers and tend to shred plants within days the only plants so far ive managed to keep in there is elodea densa but would like some other plants in the tank as well, so if anybody has any experience of any plants that survive longer than a week in a goldfish tank
i'd appreciate it. |

Hi Lisa
I had onion plants when I had goldfish and they are pretty tough. They do grow enormous though so if your tank is less than 200 litres then you might want to go for something else. Anubias is small but tough, I had some luck with java fern too. |

Hi Fishy-Fishy
Yes tank is more than 200 litres so i'll give the onion plants a go and the other plants you suggested. Thanks very much. Lisa |
