I am a novice fish keeper (as in, 3 weeks novice). One of my fishes seems sick and I'd be grateful if anyone could tell me (a) if there's anything else I can do, and (b) if there's anything I've already done that I should do differently next time.
The fish: Last Friday (11/11) I noticed that my black moor had a small rip in his tail. He was also keeping his back fin close to his body. I added King British Fin Rot and Fungus Medicine, which I have been added every day since.
Then on Sat (12/11) I found him trapped between the internal filter and the glass. He swam away when I moved the filter.
Since then has been sluggish, spending a lot of time on the bottom of the tank, propping his head up against the corner (aww). However he comes up to top of the tank eagerly to be fed.
Is there anything I can do besides keep giving him the medicine and hope for the best?
The tank: 67 litres; contains the sick black moor and two fantails. All young, about 1.5" long. I have had them for 3 weeks.
Water tests (tonight): NH3 0ppm, NO2 0ppm, NO3 30ppm, pH 8
I did the fishless cycle on this tank. I have been testing periodically since adding the fish and having usually gotten NH3 0ppm, NO2 0ppm (with two exceptions that disappeared after water change; will provide details if asked but the msg is already getting long)
