I like these

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MARINA-AQUA ... 5634a29c95#ht_2300wt_1002

I have one at the moment but if you get the adapter you can have up to three plugged in. I have a blue (moonlight) one at the moment and my main lights come on early afternoon and then at about 10 in the evening the blue one comes on (all set up on timers), after a short while the main lights go out leaving the moonlight. I like the idea of the strips but the marina is easy to put anywhere in the tank and I can adjust is to suit, at the moment it is near the water line - half in and half out so that it gets the movement of the water. They are quite versatile as they arent fixed in a position and can be changed. I like the idea of having another right at the bottom placed so that it will shine through a shipwreck.

Quick update- new moonlights have finally arrived!

I have lowered the water level as far as I can so that the pump still works but am having trouble 'drying' the top part of the 3D tiles enough to silicon the suckers in place. How dry does it have to be exactly so that the silicon will fix ok? Am going to take the lids off and remove the T bar for a few hours today and see if this helps. I also think the venturi aeration is causing quite a bit of splash so may remove the tube for a little while. Any other suggestions most welcome!

I seem to have a faulty unit. Luckily I tested it before messing about in the tank with it. Three of the LEDs do not light up when switched

Looks like I will have to send it back for a replacement. I have contacted customer services and will keep you posted about what kind of response I receive.

That looks great! I think moonlighting is lovely

The customer service was great and my faulty light was replaced with great speed. I just need to find some time to set it up (given the need for lowering the water and siliconing in place).

Will also post up a pic once sorted.

A question for noodle, i'm thinking of buying some lights from the same buyer as you, did you get the lights the same length of your tank or a little smaller?

Hi

I always go a tad shorter than the full tank length. On my 5ft tank I use a 4ft moonlight strip; 2ft strip on the 3ft; 18" on the 2ft.
