It's a Nikon Coolpix E8700. It's an awkward camera to use as it's focus is really slow and it stuggles at times to get the colour balance right indoors unless you light really well - it can take good pictures though
I also find it really struggles to focus through the glass unless it's facing straight on. My main trick is to take a very high pixel shot with no zoom and at a distance, and use computer software to zoom instead |

That makes sense, never really thought of that.
I tend to use the macro settings and then shoot at an angle to avoid the flash reflection. |

Been a while since I updated.
The baby left from the first brood is doing well, and has shown no aggression so far. Although she's started to lurk in cover a little, she still spends most of her time swimming about and is quite nosy. The second brood has about a dozen survivors. I did some tank maintenance yesterday and found about 6 living inside the filter! The ones that are left are all different sizes, but seem healthy. I worried last week as the parents were acting like they had a new batch of eggs, but it turned out to be a false alarm. I've also made the choice to rehome my original female, she's not responding at all to me and she's just not a responsive fish (apart from running away!). I'm going to give the male a little more time, but it seems likely that I'll end up keeping my babies instead of the parents. Pictures tonight hopefully! |
