I was wondering. I assume it can be done but is it recommended. Cross breeding fish, would it work, and is it recommended?

When you say cross breeding I take it you mean 2 different goldfish

Ok how about anything that only has 1 tailfin, is there a greater chance with that. I am really interested in this, not that I would do it, but hey, you never know.

You mean single tails
the japanese have been mix breeding fish for centuries that why we have all the different types and colours, but wouldn't think you could in a home aquarium |
