It's unlikely that you have the little creatures ( zoa spiders ) but that would be a worst case scenario.

Give it a few days to settle down. Were the lights in the shop that they lived under significantly different to yours ? more powerful maybe ? as this will affect them for a while.

Sit them out of the way of any direct flow , in moderate light and i bet they'll be fine within a week.

Keep your eyes out for any asterina stars ( little tiny starfish , with 5 or more legs ) as they ( not very often admittedly ) can eat zoas. Mine did , and i lost loads of really nice ones !

Keep your beadies on them , but if you can snap a piccy it might make it easier for us.

OK Thanks. Will do.
How do you know when the asterina's are eating the zoa other than seeing it?

Look first thing in the morning when you open your curtains.

The little grey stars will be hugging the top of the polyp. Pull them off and bin them.

They are a PITA ( but just to emphasise , not all do it ) and asterinas that don't eat zoas are a good part of the CUC.

The feather duster type things look like aiptasia ...

You may find that they are stinging the zoas and causing them to not open.

Kill the aips with boiling RO injected into them , or a kalk paste ( more effective ) and you will probably find that they open up ok after that.

Aiptasia are pest anemones .

They sting and annoy pretty much everything , so yes , you need to deal with them.

Most effective way is a kalk injection into its mouth. Don't be fooled into buying Joes Juice or Aiptasia X or anything like that , they are essentially just kalk mixed with RO.

Get yourself some calcium hydroxide powder and make your own paste.

Don't be tempted by the technical/lab grade stuff on Ebay , you need the Pharmaceutical grade stuff from someone like Coral Culture ...

I've read that concentrated lemon juice injected into them works too, does anyone know if this is true? Why is it with this hobby that when you buy new things for your tank you bloody end up with bloody pests.

It does , but it can alter the Ph of the tank if you use too much.

Needs to be fresh lemon juice , don't use Jif , as it has preservatives in it.

Not as effective as Kalk either .
