If you keep the fish really healthy they should clear up on their own, if they are tumours (they look like it to me). Keeping the water in top condition and feeding a varied diet will help.
Yeah, that test kit is a bit like mine. They are expensive but you only use a few drops at a time so they last ages. |

The test kit seemed good, it cost me a lot more when i started as i bought all seperate kits. I think the tetra test strips are slightly cheaper about £19 but I belive are not very accurate. the test kits do seem expensive but you get a lot of test out of them. If you cant afford them at the moment you could take a sample to lfs and ask them to test for you most will.

Well i went and bought a test kit today
Freshwater master test kit (by aquiriam pharmaceuticals) The current reading for the tank are PH 7 Ammonia 0.25 NitrIte 0 NitrAte 5 Dont know much about this, but that seems pretty good, i was expecting the ammonia and nitrite to be high. Anyways i should hopefully have a new tank in a weeks time, if i dont get that one on ebay, theres a couple of suitable ones in the local paper as well. I think i like the juwel tank on ebay, so hopefully i get that one. Thanks guys Ross |

Hi there
I got a bigger tank for my goldie recently, he's nearly 15 and about 9 inches so similar to yours, he's so much better since I moved him! He used to have a few health problems which I now realise was more than likely down to the tank being too small and the filter not coping etc. but now he's doing really well - I'm sure your fish will thank you for his new home ![]() |
