ive been researching about neons and their behaviour, but can they be quite stroppy? 2 or 3 of mine can seem quite aggressive at times, chasing each other and the others about,is this normal for them? just worried they might do some damage or is this just a terratorial/pecking order thing going on?

Don't worry, Neons can be like that. It's one of the reasons it isn't a good idea to put them in with Bettas: they tend to chase and nip Betta tails
![]() As long as they aren't all ganging up on one, they should be fine. If all readings look good when they've been in for two or three weeks you can add a few more. As the shoal grows the aggression will disperse. |

I find all my tetras can be a bit stroppy. A lot of it can be down to male female ratio. My neons eventually settled in with my cardinals. Plants help to break things up as does having a large group - 10 - 12 fish.

its quite a heavely planted tank.most of the time they're pretty chilled but have noticed it seems to be two culprits getting up to most of the mischief.they are not picking on any one fish, they just seem to get feisty and turns in to abit of a free for all.dont think the naughty step works in the fish tank!
