Help please! got back the fish tank is leaking from the bottom. Took everything out, and the tank is now outside. I can see than the seal on the bottom panel has air pockets.

The bottom piece of the glass isn't fitted the normal way, but instead fitted inbetween the other sheets of glass. I.e. the sides arent sat on top of the base piece of glass.

looks like a real pain in the **** to re-seal. Should i just get a new tank or what?

luckily theres no livestock - i sold them yesterday. I was going to pick up some malawi tomorrow!!

plz help guys

Oh dear, poor you Lucky the fish had gone though

If you can afford to, just get another tank. If you try to repair this one it's going to take days or weeks to clean off all the old silicone, seal, cure and leak test and if you're at all like I am, you won't trust it again after that.

Thanks - put it up for sale as a vivarium.

Will go for an upgrade rather than replace. Juwel Rio 400 looks like a good choice - not cheap though :/

Thanks - I'm really looking forward to it.

got a question. I have my external filter in a container of approx 50ltr (60ltr capacity) still switched on to keep the bacteria alive.

As im stocking malawi, and aquascaping with big rocks, I don't want to have to change the layout each time adding fish. I'd rather add them all at the same time.

What ppm of ammonia should I add in a 50ltr, to fully stock a 400ltr tank?

thanks
Jason

Got home yesterday to find someone had turned the filter off, and has been off since last weekend. Dosed to 5ppm ammonia and it's 0.25ppm today - amazing how it stayed alive without flow!!
