Just wanted to know if my LFS was correct all there tropical fish are in tanks at 30c i thought thats a little high, when i asked them he said they do to stop white spot.
Also he had Pygmy corys in there at 30 c is that too high |

It's his choice to do that if he wants to, but 30C as a standard temp is too high for most tropicals (with a few exceptions), and definitely too high for Pygmy Cories. However as they aren't in his tanks long term they will probably be OK, but given most people maintain trops at 25C or so, they may not do well initially with such drastic a change.

Thanks Noodle as always you the person in the know.. I did think that maybe he did this so that when you buy them the water dosnt get too cold on the return home.
the pygmys didn't seem to be moving just sat at the bottom I know from other fish shops that they are usally very active. Im going to get five in a weeks time and was worred that they may die just from the high temps. Thanks |
