You may remember a while ago I said I was going to buy a goldfish bowl so I could do some pics of a fairground fish and a fairground fishbowl, you know the sort of thing you get sold at fairs to accomodate the hapless creature you've just won. Well I got the bowl. A full 4 litres capacity and 8 inches across at the widest point.

Seeing as Howie won't actually fit in said bowl, Dave Godfrey had the rather cunning plan of putting the bowl in the tank and taking a pic of Howie next to it. He didn't look very impressed about even going near it but here you go ...

PMSL His face in the middle picture! It's like he's thinking "what kind of f*$£ery is this?!"

It is really sad though that these things are still sold. Is it OK if we use these pics and just splatter them everywhere? Like all over FB, emails, twitter, all that stuff? The more people that see these, the better I think. Howie can be the poster child fish for the campaign

Or have you got other plans for the pics? Are you making a flyer or something?

I'd like to know if we can use them as education for fish owners too, please

Can you put them in gallery individually if they are not already there? Honestly. fishbowls. just say no.

Great shot. I hope it makes folk re-think any bowl-shaped plans.

Howie is a beast of a fish. That "lump" on his lower half that makes him really deep (????), is that just pure muscle?!

I do have plans to use the pics, might do some more when I get to the point of actually being ready but I'm more than happy for anyone else to use them too The more the merrier, spread the word. Glad you like them, well, you know what I mean I've left it in there with him to see if he gets used to it but he doesn't seem that keen on it!

@ Mixtapes, that 'lump' is mostly elodea I think He is a big fella, and very powerful though. I can really give him a very good shove with my hand when I'm cleaning and he's interfering and it doesn't move him very far!

I'm going to try get one of these bowls if it doesn't kill me to buy one, and try do the same with Ronnie! He's nowhere near the size of Howie but I think a series of these would be interesting.

@ mixtapes - I actually think a children's book called Howie and the goldfish bowl could be a really good idea!
