Hi Guys,

I've noticed that my tank is getting quite a lot of dirt on the plants and decorative items, is this normal or am I missing something. It's happened on all 3 of my tanks since I started fiahkeeping and they gradually get dirtier and dirtier.

Any ideas welcomed, I do a 25% water change weekly and clean the tank at the same time. I have mostly real plants with a very large piece of monapoli root wood (sorry about the spelling) with a few other decroative items, caves etc.

Thanks Icklefish.

I have steel blue killifish and I know they fight if there are 2 males or more, I could add a female - I did in fact but they became very aggressive as they bred.

I have, I think 2 Male Rams so breeding isn't a problem with them, although I'm not 100% on that.

Thanks both.

Nathan - the figures you quoted I thought were for a new setup? My tank has been running for a looonnnng time now and as my nitrate levels are stable and low I assumed that I could now add stock?

Hi All,

I've now upgraded my tank to a 125 litre and am successufully using a eheim 2213 pump.

I want to add a few more fish now, and I am wondering what my options are. My current stock is below in my signature, i'm looking to get a Bristle Nose Plec and maybe another shoaling group.

I don't want to over stock and have monitored my Nitrate levels for a few weeks now which are stable at around 10.

Any sugestions welcomed

Hi all,

I'm just setting up my eheim 2213 external filter and I have a few questions. Firstly how to u prime it?

Secondly how do I clean the media out of it when I do the water changes? I have the tap connectors on both of the lines just jot sure what to do with them.

Hi All,

I would like to make some aquarium decorations such as caves & pramids etc using slate.

I want to build some small decorations and some large ones but i'm not sure what i can use to glue the slate together?

I have milliput which i will use for the large decorations but i need something like superglue for the smaller pieces.

Any Ideas welcomed :)

I have used this for about a year now recharging roughly every 2-3 month's.

when I recharge it, its fairly easy. Like fish lady said have the bucket higher with salt in and have everything else lower. Don't follow the diagram you get though, have the filter also flowing straight down rather than upside down. Once it starts it is really slow to recharge but it gets there. Normally recharges in about 2 hours
