Hi,

Welcome to the site

You are normaly fine to mix sizes, you just need to make sure they are all feeding and the big ones arent getting all the food

Hi,

Very rarely its due to terrority, could be down to two reasons in my opinion;

1) the fish are ill and the other fish are trying to get the other fish to move away

2) it could be that the fish are breeding and the fish being chassed are females

See how they get on the next few days

Hey Dekker,

You need to be careful of a few things, first of all are the roots, if the roots are where you want to put the pond then it'll be very hard to remove them and also have the change to pierce the pond liner or mishape the pond.

Also you need to be care of things falling in the pond leaves, fruit/berries or flowers which could be poisonous.

In terms of the size, it would be better if it was slightly wider and longer but would suffice, until they are big

Personal id just use normal pellets without blanching them, you need to get as much nutrients and protein into them as possible

Well you need to move onto normal food once you've read the garden peas once. The peas are a laxative so the fish are going to get worse if you feed nothing but peas. Now you've cleared them you need to start feeding them up to strength.

It is done if theres poor water quality, but you could ahve poor water quality if somethings got in which normal tests cant test for

Only treatment you could add if you wanted to was salt and possibily a strong anti internal bacterial treatment.

Its not that brilliant and only works if used on a regular basis before the silt builds up.

It will still need cleaning im afraid

Well i would say its either temperature related (if you moved the two fish indoors) or theres something in the water.

Try doing a 50 water change and see if that perks them up.

Rain proberly willnt be helping things either due tot he low pressure.

Mussels are filter feeders so they are unlikely to clear the bottom of a pond unless you had a lot of them. Also they should have something to bury themselves half in.

Personaly think they are something else to add to a pond rather than do an important job.

Not without eating the other fish

With Goldfish its a matter of reducing numbers every now and then unfortuntly.
