Also, I'm having a little trouble with the pH readings if you could clear it up for me?
It's the API Freshwater Master kit, and on the standard pH test it shows as 7.6, but on the high range it shows as 7.4?

Ok, thanks for clearing that up. After reading your article on RO a couple of times I've decided that I can't make that type of commitment due to my work schedule. So I'm not sure where to go from here with regards to stocking some feature fish.

Ok, so gH and kH kits I'll see if I can pick up tomorrow.

So 50:50 RO in current water would make it 5.62 gH? Nitrates out of the tap are 30ppm so that'd make those 15ppm. Would that be acceptable or do they need to be lowers still?

I've had the idea of RO in the back of my mind for a few days now, but a home RO unit is out of the question. My local MA does RO water in 25L canisters, so lugging this home would be the only option. I don't know where to start on calculating the amount of RO needed though?

EDIT: After perusing the care sheets for both on here and SF, it seems they conflict with regards to pH for the Bolivian?

I'm going to order one of the nitrate filters that I saw recommended on here (The AquaWorld one) so that's going to help.
These are the results from the water quality report:

mg/lCa mg/lCaCO3 Clarks French German millimol/l
82 203.9 14.28 20.45 11.42 2.04

Can you decifer them into the hardness scale you use so I can understand it better? Thanks.

After having my new 125L tank set up for a few months and matured nicely, I'm thinking of getting some cichlids.

I've decided on Kribs or Bolivian Rams as they're both suitable for my water, but I really can't decide which ones! The Kribs are more colourful and will be new to me, whereas the Bolivians I've kept in the past and they had fantastic personalities but would like something different.

Can anyone sway me in a direction?

Tank stats taken yesterday before water change:
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 40ppm
pH 7.4
Hardness kit is on the way, but water board website showing as 'moderately hard'

Yeah, fairly sure it's just bacterial bloom as the filter bacteria are spreading across the new expanse of media, there's loads of it now!

The ammonia levels are dead steady 0.0 every day, so it was a fairly uneventful transition!

So my new tank is finally up and running after a hard 3 month wait, so I thought I'd show it off!

It's an AquaManta Eco 80 (125L) tank and cabinet with the EFX200 External Filter. The whole things really good quality, dead easy to set up and maintain. For anyone looking for a tank in their volume range, I highly recommend it. Moved all my media from the old internal to the nice big external and the current occupants are 10 rummy-nose tetras and 6 peppered corydoras. They seem lost in all the new space!

As you can see, it's rather sparsely planted atm so I will take any suggestions for easy to grow plants that will fill it nicely.

Also, it turns out I can't house my 60L Tetra tank anymore so it's currently up for sale. If anyone's interested in it just PM me .

Well my tap water pH straight from the tap, and after 24 hours is the same and this matches the current tank so I don't think there'd be any pH issues. I plan on using most of the water from the current tank for the new one as well.
Temperature wise, I'm going to use some warm water to fill the tank but I'll leave it cool enough to let the new heater do the work and bring it up to a matching temp.
