Yes add the fish when your water is up to temp. Fingers crossed for you and your fishy friends

Transfer fish and filter now. I wouldn't add the old tank water if it's showing nitrite and ammonia present. You'll need to be testing the water in the new tank every day and doing partial water changes every day too until the tank is cycled.

Seem to remember LHG was going to 'take a break' a while back. Not sure for how long tho. Would be good to see him back as his posts were amazing. A very knowledgeable guy

The pristellas are so pretty with their red tails and striped fins. Have settled in well too.

Tank had only been set up about a month before those photos were taken. Has a little more algae now constant battle eh.
Got a few more corys since then and a little shoal of pristella tetras.
A few more pics, taken today.

Thought it was about time I posted some pics of my new trop tank. These pics were taken around November '11.

I use plain dark blue or dark green wrapping paper cut to fit and blu tacked to the tank frame at the back. Is really simple and neat (can't see the blu tack at all) and is easy to remove if you need to.
And it's cheap!

Have to agree with lenny. My wcmm love to rest in the roots of minature water lettuce. The roots are quite long at about 4 inches. It's almost like they tuck themselves in for the night when the lights go out.

Interesting to see what folks listen to. I tend to prefer listening to rock and metal. Old faves such as Iron Maiden and AC/DC, to Theory of a Dead Man and Avenged Sevenfold.

Am loving 'ball of mayhem'. Iceman you have a lovely warm, bassy quality to your voice.

I run 2 aqua one tanks both with the trickle filtration system and had the same problem occur.
In mine the filter pad had lodged against the water outlet partially blocking it. This caused the water level in the filter to rise enough to drip over the back of the tank [the air tube for the air pump sits along the inside of the filter and this was acting like a sort of wick allowing water to seep up and over the back].
Was easy to solve by rearranging the filter pads and moving the air tube in slightly.
This was the one and only problem I've had with this type of filter in 5 years.
I love this type of filtration. It is so easy to maintain, easy to add more filter medium, carbon if required etc.
Would def have this over internal filters any day!
