Subject: Re: Once again fish tank cycling by Fathead on 11/12/2017 9:38:15 Hi thanks for the advice fishlady the tank seems to be getting there apart from it's slightly the wrong way round. I have been adding ammonia to keep the levels up around 3ppm this morning i saw the biggest drop from around 3ish to 0.6ish ppm (color charts not too accurate) so i added a bit more ammonia (1ml) levels back up to around 3ppm. I tested for nitrite and came back 0.3 so theres me thinking the cycle has just started so just to check i tested for nitrate and the levels are soaring about 50ppm. Could the cycle be almost complete as from my previous effort the bacteria that converts nitrite into nitrate be present The nitrite spike must have already happened) and i just killed off the ammonia bacteria having the temperature too high. So just waiting till tomorrow to see what levels the ammonia is at |
