This is the other, was just a blur in the last photo. His/her head is a different shape to the other one. Whats that all about?

Quite chuffed with how these pictures came out.

The outage of my DIY CO2 system due to a badly sealed replacement container and then a bad Wash (sugar/yeast mix) lead to a massive outbreak in fluffy green algae. The shrimp and otos loved this and are looking fat, happy and quite brave.

After far too long I've managed to get my tank working properly. It's all started to come together.  (hope I've not spoken too soon!)

Here is my hermit a good 18" up a sheer glass surface with only turf algae to hang on to.

Very dull to all those with beautiful reef tanks I'm sure but adding the first live rock to my tank is a major step in the right direction for me.
I was a little stunned that these three little bits of rock came to  £26! but there does seem to be a fair ammount of life on them.

Dory, enjoying her return to the display tank. I've still got a little algae problems but its getting better slowly so I'm monitoring it.

Dory has been in this quarantine tank with her friends since the start of the year. She's now looking plump and fully coloured and has (touch wood) not shown any signs of ill health in several weeks. Please excuse the state of the glass, it will get scraped and scrubbed clean once the fish come out again!

They just love these algae tablets. They're so big though they have to share one. The Gourami are currently occupied with the vegi-flakes.

these are really hard to photograph because they're just so active. Removing the male from the tank has allowed them to slow down a little though. I'm not convinced this is a pure molly, its possibly part platty.

This is one of my female Pearl Gourami, for those interested in how to sex a Pearl Gourami its fairly obvious once you know what to look for. A female has the short solid dorsal fin and the solid rounded anal fin as you can clearly see. The male has a longer more pointed and tasselled dorsal and anal fin. The tassels are the tell tale although less obvious as juveniles.

Unfortunately my male is also very camera shy, so sadly no chance of a decent photo.

Here he is, Fozzie the teddy bear crab. Excuse the dirty glass I wasn't going to clean it and risk missing the shot. He seems to like the cockle meat and has been leaving the snails alone since I've been feeding him better.
