Hi,
my dad put mine on breezeblocks in my bedroom - it works well doesn't it? I've got a blue sheet - a small one from when I was a baby! - over mine, and he put a towel under the blocks so that we can move it if we need to....we slide it out!!!! |

I think this tank would need to be on anti-gravity fabric to move it now it's in situ!
I do like breeze block stands - they're not pretty, but they're functional. Also, I like my tank to be visible when I sit on the floor, and no stand manufacturer seems to make low stands. |

Can you just paint breeze blocks or do you have to prime them first, anyone? Very handy. What is the shelf - marine ply?

I *think* you can just paint them. I'm thinking of slapping a couple of coats of white masonary paint on these and seeing how they go.
The wood is your basic pine planks. If you think they're likely to get wet then marine ply's definitely the way to go, but in the last 4 years I didn't actually drip on the platform that much. Certainly not emough to affect the wood in any serious way. |

Like this idea. gunna do this with my next tank. Id just give them a couple of coats of cheap emulsion as the paint might soak in to the block then a top coat of matt black.
