Lovely tree mate. I had a go at Bonsai a while back though sadly I couldn't even keep a Chinese Elm alive long enough to see it's first year with me. Rather than kill any more trees I ended it there...

Still go to some of the shows near me though, at Newstead Bonsai Centre near Pontefract. Lovely place and some absolutely awe inspiring creations.

I found that the trick is lots of gravel in with the soil so the water that the soil doesnt soak up drains away that way the roots dont rot killing the tree. i've had the tree for about 10 years and i nearly killed it twice but i have the soil rite now so its all good.

glad you like it guys, i'll get round to posting my other two trees soon as i re size the pics.

nice tree but reminds me... at xmas my mum bought my nan one of these, knowing she would kill it. we went round there the other week and asked how it was doing, she said 'oh it died a while ago'. haha a while ago? you had it about 2 months!! HAHA

I'm currently growing a couple from the seed, they have just come out of the fridge! Hopefully in a few weeks time i will actually see something other than soil!
