Thanks Peediepixie - Fred has suggested gas bubble disease and I found a very similiar picture on a tropical fish site of gas bubble disease on a cory (I think it's a cory!). Further research is in progress

I have a pearlscale and I also have another like yours but the shop I got him from called him a Watkins, weird eh? The two do look different. I'll post a pic some time soon!
