Thanks Goldy, he really makes the tank, I'm still hoping one day I can get him some companians of his own kind.

Lovely! He looks just great, excellent photo too!

Wish I could capture or just see mine doing the same (baby koi grab any aglae wafers before they even think of coming close)

Must agree, colours are nice. I want one just like him now lol

 Re: Hillstream Loach

Thanks Inder.

I find that if I put in flake for my goldfish when I put in the catfish pellet it usually distracts them so my hillstream has the chance to nibble on the pellet for a wee while before the goldfish notice.

I have also found it easier to take photo's since I changed for gravel to sand, I think its because the sand makes the tank look brighter and the fish stand out more.

 Re: Hillstream Loach

That's a good plan, thing is my two hang about on the filter most of the day, more active at night

Koi are so greedy lol, perhaps once they have vacated the tank, the loaches and new arrivals should do better food wise

 Re: Hillstream Loach

Cheeky how did you manage to get such a lovely clear photo with so much detail, is your loach quite big ? my biggest loach is about 1 and a half inches

 Re: Hillstream Loach

You just need a bit of patience I guess Goldy, and a digital camera with Macro Mode helps too - once he is not moving, it's possible to focus in on them quite easily, the Macro Mode allows you to get real close to the glass.

How's this for a close up:

2) http://fish.modtown.net/coldwater%20tank/sukki_on_pot_1.jpg

I've also found that taking a picture from one side of the tank, rather than the front gives a clearer picture.

 Re: Hillstream Loach

Inders right.

I set my camera to Macro mode and took quite a few pics before I managed to get this one. I have to admit, I'm quite pleased with it.

P.S He's about 1 and 3/4 inches long.

P.P.S Lovely fish and pics inder.

 Re: Hillstream Loach

My husband used macro mode but never got them as close and clear as your's but he says my Rena tank has very thick glass, will keep trying though
