General Information:	Orfe are sociable fish and should always be kept in groups of at least three. Orfe are fast swimmers and need a lot of oxygen. Spending most of the time near the surface of the pond. Orfe will jump out of very small ponds because they like lots of room.

Diet Requirements:	Typicaly Orfe live on a diet of small insects and other invertebrates, but will happily take pond fish food. Try to add some live food to the mix as Orfe love to chase their prey.
Compatibility:	Happy with all varieties of pond fish such as Goldfish, Koi, Shubunkins, Tench, Gold Rudd. Smaller fish should not be added where there are adult Orfe, who will eat them.
Recommendations:	Orfe prefer to be in a shoal of at least six.
Common Problems:	Grow rapidly and can quickly out grow small ponds. Orfe can be affected by some disease treatments. Orfe that have been affected by this typicaly have a bent backbone.
Similar Species:
Sexing:	Males can develop breeding spots and females are heavier, but only during breeding.
Breeding:	A large pond (at least 1000 gallons) is needed. Orfe tend to lay their eggs in a cluster around plant roots or in weeds.
